The development project of polypropylene beverage bottle special materials undertaken by the Fushun Petrochemical Company's ethylene plant has recently passed expert review. The project greatly reduced production costs without reducing product performance. Currently, there are two grades of transparent material, namely RT075 and RT180. RT075 is used in carbonated beverage bottles, mineral water bottles, and injection molded thick parts; RT180 is used in thinner products, such as special containers for microwave ovens, transparent packaging for edible and non-food products, and medical disposable syringes.
Fushun Ethylene Chemical Plant's polypropylene plant is a patented SPHERIPOL technology imported from HIMONT in 1998. It uses liquid phase bulk method to produce polypropylene. The original design capacity of the device is 60,000 tons/year, and in 2001 it was converted to 90,000 tons/year. In order to meet market demand, Fushun Petrochemical Company's ethylene chemical plant independently researched and developed the random copolymer transparent polypropylene beverage bottle special materials with its own technical strength. After a small test and a mid-test, the formula of the transparent material was basically determined and finally reached 90,000 tons. The trial production on the polypropylene plant was successful, and it can continuously and steadily produce a transparent special product. Up to now, a total of 2,305 tons of transparent special materials have been produced.
