When the mechanical speed can no longer be exceeded, offset press manufacturers have to focus on every aspect of the equipment, such as the rapid changeover time of printing presses, the rapid realization of printing colors and registration, etc. The fast operation and flexible response of the function to meet the needs of short version printing and frequent replacement of prints, so as to adapt to the changes in the number of jobs and delivery time of printing customers.

Here are a few short ink path systems that are more eye-catching on Drupa. The short ink path system does not require multiple uniform ink and ink rollers in the past, only 3-5 ink rollers are needed, and the ink transfer is very simple. The ink is evenly transferred to the plate cylinder, which saves the ink leveling time, quickly completes the printing preparation, reduces the use of paper for starting the plate, and also avoids the waste of ink because there is no transfer of excessive ink.

KBA anilox roller short ink path ink conveying device

(Gaobao Anilox Roller Ink Delivery Device)

KBA was the first offset printing equipment manufacturer to use an anilox roller short ink path inking method on offset presses. This equipment adopts the ink path form of flexographic anilox roller, eliminating the traditional ink transfer device, and finally reducing the number of ink rollers to one. At present, this anilox roller short ink path inking device has been used on KBA's waterless printing equipment. The equipment for installing this anilox roller ink path on Drupa is Genius 52 UV, Rapida 74 Gravuflow, 74 Karat DI And Cortina four waterless printing equipment, its environmental protection has been greatly improved.

Heidelberg Anicolor ink-free zone ink supply system

(Heidelberg Anicolor ink-free area ink supply system)

At the Heidelberg booth in Drupa, we can see the big characters Anicolor, which represents the ink supply system of the ink-free zone, which is one of the key new technologies promoted by Heidelberg on Drupa. The Anicolor short ink supply system is a revolutionary technology pioneered by Heidelberg. It combines the anilox roller ink feeding technology with the Alcolor direct continuous dampening system. The technology is easy to use and maintains extremely stable printing colors throughout the production process, resulting in excellent offset quality. The Anicolor ink supply system uses only an anilox roller and a separate plate-based ink roller, and no ink zone setting is required. Therefore, accurate colors can be realized soon after the printing machine is started, and reliable production begins. Anicolor adjusts the ink volume through an advanced temperature control system. Since no ink zone setting is required, the job preparation time is shortened by 40%, and the waste sheet at startup will be reduced by as much as 90%. Finally, it should be noted that the standard plates used for commercial printing work in harmony with Anicolor technology, so companies do not need to spend extra on consumables. Anicolor is now officially an optional component of the Speedmaster SM52 offset press.

Gauss DigiRail digital ink supply system

In this Drogba, Gauss introduced the new generation of offset printing equipment Gauss M600 Folia. In this device, Gauss used its DigiRail Ink Pack, a short ink supply unit used in newspapers. This ink supply device uses a high-precision, low-torque, linear gear pump to deliver individually controlled "digital" values, and then provides the ink fountain with precisely measured ink pulses. The gear pump is enclosed in a diverter valve, which supplies ink uniformly to the gear pump through a single-tube supply system. The design of the pump and its drive system uses a synchronous AC motor. Rotary valves complete the determination of the amount of ink. These valves are in the same position as the inkjet keys they replace. The valve works in a binary manner. In the "on" position, they supply ink to the inking track. In the "off" position, the ink returns to the diverter valve for backup. The system outputs a completely predictable amount of ink by changing the "on time" of the digital pulse, and changes the ink flow according to the image density. The accuracy of the system allows the ink flow to be adjusted in increments of 0.1%. This feature allows better control of small image processing.
