Packing line commonly used lifting mechanism composition and principle description

[China Packaging Network News] There are three commonly used types of automated packaging line lifting mechanisms. (1) Mechanical Lifting Mechanism The mechanical lifting mechanism is one of the most traditional and widely used systems. It typically consists of a cylindrical cam with a biased direct-acting follower. The basic components include a bottle holder, compression spring, slider, slide seat, connecting rod, sliding tube, rolling bearing, and cam guide. When the rolling bearing moves along the cam guide, it causes the sliding tube to move, which in turn pushes the upper slider upward. This movement lifts the supporting tray. When the slider disengages from the sliding tube, the bottle holder and upper slider drop back down due to gravity and the force of the compression spring. This mechanism is simple in design and easy to manufacture, but it has several drawbacks. The mechanical components tend to wear out quickly, and the compression spring is prone to failure, leading to poor reliability. Additionally, liquid materials may foam or splash during operation, making this system unsuitable for applications involving gas-liquid mixtures. (2) Pneumatic Lifting Mechanism The pneumatic lifting mechanism uses compressed air to control the lifting and lowering of the bottle holder. It includes a cylinder, piston, connecting rod, support table, intake manifold, and a pressure valve. Before filling, the valve is closed, and the exhaust valve is opened to allow compressed air to enter the cylinder chamber. This raises the piston and the bottle holder. After filling, the exhaust valve is closed, and the main valve is opened to equalize the pressure between the upper and lower chambers. The bottle holder then lowers under its own weight. However, this system is sensitive to pressure fluctuations. If the pressure is too high, the lifting process can cause impact, while low pressure may prevent proper contact between the container and the filling valve. Despite these issues, it is still widely used due to its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. (3) Mechanical-Pneumatic Combined Lifting Mechanism This hybrid system combines the advantages of both mechanical and pneumatic mechanisms. It features a more complex structure but offers smoother and faster motion for the bottle holder. The mechanism includes a plunger, sleeve, hollow screw, gasket, cam guide, and rolling bearing. Compressed air enters through a ring pipe and flows into the upper space of the sleeve, allowing the bottle table to rise. After filling, the air supply is stopped, and the decompression valve is opened, enabling the bottle holder to descend smoothly under the control of the cam guide and rolling bearing. This system is widely adopted in modern packaging lines due to its efficiency, reliability, and ability to handle various types of containers. It provides better performance compared to purely mechanical or pneumatic systems, making it ideal for high-speed and precision packaging applications.
