Poor gloss and insufficient brightness

main reason:

1. The viscosity of the UV varnish is too small and the coating is too thin;

2. Excessive dilution of non-reactive solvents such as ethanol;

3. Uneven coating;

4. The paper is too absorbent;

5, the rubberized anilox roller mesh is too thin, the oil supply is insufficient.

Solution:

Appropriately increase the viscosity and coating amount of UV varnish according to the different conditions of the paper; for the absorbent paper, a layer of primer can be applied first.

Poor drying, incomplete curing, sticky surface

main reason:

1. The intensity of ultraviolet light is insufficient;

2. The UV lamp is aging and the light intensity is weakened;

3, UV varnish storage time is too long;

4. Add too much diluent that does not participate in the reaction;

5, the machine speed is too fast.

Solution:

In the case where the curing speed is less than 0.5 s, the power of the high-pressure mercury lamp should generally be ensured to be not less than 120 W/cm; the lamp should be replaced in time, and if necessary, a certain amount of UV varnish curing accelerator should be added to accelerate drying.

The surface of the printed matter can not be coated with UV varnish.

1. The viscosity of the UV varnish is too small and the coating is too thin;

2. The content of varnish or dry oil in the ink is too high;

3. The surface of the ink has been crystallized;

4. Too many anti-adhesive materials (silicone oil, dusting) on ​​the ink surface;

Solution:

For products requiring UV glazing, appropriate measures should be taken during printing to create certain conditions; UV varnish can be appropriately thickened, if necessary, with primer or special varnish formulation.

UV coating has white spots

main reason:

1. The coating is too thin;

2. The glued anilox roller is too thin;

3. Adding a non-reactive diluent (such as ethanol) in excess;

4. The surface of the printed matter is dusty and so on.

Solution:

Keep the production environment and the surface of the printed matter clean; increase the thickness of the coating; add a small amount of smoothing aid; the diluent is preferably a reactive diluent that participates in the reaction.
