Clothing Material Science ----- Basic Knowledge of Clothing (Continued 7)

(2) Variety of acrylic fiber fabrics

There are many types of acrylic fabrics, ranging from pure acrylic fabrics to acrylic blended and interwoven fabrics. The main varieties are as follows:

1. Pure acrylic fabric is made of 100% acrylic fiber. For example, the worsted acrylic women processed with 100% wool acrylic fibers have loose structural characteristics, bright colors, soft and elastic feel, and the texture is not loose or rotten. It is suitable for making low-grade women's clothing. Using 100% acrylic bulked yarn as raw material, it can be made into plain or twilled acrylic bulked coat. It has the characteristics of plump, warm and easy-to-wear wool fabric. It is suitable for spring and autumn winter coats, casual wear and so on.

2. Acrylic blended fabric refers to a fabric blended with wool or medium-length acrylic and viscose or polyester. Including nitrile / sticky gabardine, nitrile / sticky women's cloth, nitrile / polyester tweed, etc. Nitrile / sticky gabardine, also known as oriental, blended with 50% of nitrile and sticky. It has a thick and tight body, strong and durable, smooth, soft and wooly gabardine style, but poor elasticity. Easy to wrinkle, suitable for making inexpensive pants. Acrylic / viscose women's fabric is blended with 85% acrylic fiber and 15% viscose. It is mostly woven with crepe structure. The surface is slightly fluffed, bright color, thin body, good durability, poor resilience, suitable for making coat. Nitrile / polyester tweed is made by blending 40% and 60% of nitrile and polyester respectively. Because it is mostly processed with plain weave and twill weave, it has the characteristics of flat appearance and firm non-ironing. Its disadvantage is that it has poor comfort. Therefore, it is mostly used for the production of mid-range clothing such as outerwear and suits.

5. Other chemical fiber fabrics In addition to the above-mentioned chemical fiber fabrics, the fabrics used for apparel include vinylon, polypropylene, spandex, and chlorine fiber. The characteristics and varieties of these fabrics are described below.

(1) Vinylon fabric

1. Characteristics of vinylon fiber fabric

The nature of vinylon is exactly like cotton, so it is called "synthetic cotton". The fabric features are as follows:

â‘´The hygroscopicity of vinylon fabric is the strongest among synthetic fiber fabrics, so it has the style of general cotton fabrics. At the same time, it is stronger and more durable than cotton cloth.

⑵ Vinylon fabric is resistant to acid and alkali, corrosion, and not afraid of moths. Long-term exposure to sunlight has little effect on its strength, so it is suitable for making work clothes and often weaving canvas.

⑶ The disadvantages of vinylon fabrics are poor heat resistance and water resistance, shrinkage and deformation when wet when heated, and not bright dyeing. Therefore, its use is limited and belongs to low-grade clothing.

2. Varieties of vinylon fabrics

Vinylon fabrics generally have very little pure spinning, and are mostly blended or interwoven with other fibers. Here we mainly introduce blended and interwoven fabrics of vinylon and other chemical fibers. The main varieties are:

â‘´ Victorian / sticky gabardine, also known as Victorian / sticky dongfeng, is made of 50% vinylon and 50% wool viscose blended yarn. It is woven with 2/2 twill changes and has the same front and back sides, thick and tight texture, toughness, durability, and wooly gabardine, but it has better gloss than wool and is suitable for outerwear.

⑵Vinyl / sticky vandine is made of plain weave with vinylon and wool-type viscose. The vanilin style fabric obtained is usually made of vinylon / artificial wool ratio of 70/30 or 50/50. The thin and light feature has the disadvantages of high shrinkage and poor heat resistance. Mostly used as summer low-end clothing.

(2) Polypropylene fabric

1. Characteristics of polypropylene fiber fabric

Polypropylene is the lightest of all clothing fibers, and it is a fiber that can float on the water (specific gravity is about 0.91g / cm3), but its strength is very good, so it is widely used in clothing. The characteristics of polypropylene fabric are:

â‘´ Polypropylene is one of the lightweight fabrics, and its weight is only 3/5 of that of cotton, so it is very suitable for fabrics for winter clothing, such as skidding, mountaineering clothes, etc. It can also be used to make ropes, fishing nets, filter cloths, etc.

⑵ The hygroscopicity of polypropylene fabric is extremely small, and its moisture regain rate is regarded as 0%. Therefore, its clothing is famous for its advantages of quick-drying, very cool and non-shrinking. But the comfort is not good, and the dyeability is also very poor. Polypropylene film is easy to break in the direction perpendicular to the stretch, so it is mostly used to wrap the rope.

(3) The polypropylene fabric has good strength and wear resistance, and the clothing is strong and durable.

â‘· Polypropylene fabric is corrosion-resistant, but not heat-resistant, light-resistant, and easy to age.

⑸ Polypropylene fabric has good stability to inorganic acids and alkalis, and slightly less stable to organic solvents.

2. Variety of polypropylene fiber fabric

Polypropylene fabrics have pure spinning, blending and interweaving categories. Among them, blending and interweaving fabrics are mostly paired with cotton fibers, such as polypropylene / cotton muslin, acrylic / cotton color hemp yarn, etc .; and pure polypropylene fabrics are made of Pali coat It is representative.

(1) The parylene woolen coat is a wool-like fabric woven with virgin dyed polypropylene terry yarn. It has a unique woolen terry style, bright and beautiful color, light and warm texture, and strong wool feel. Its biggest advantage is that it is easy to wash Quick drying, good quality and low price. Suitable for youth clothes and children's coats.

⑵Acrylic / cotton color hemp yarn is woven from acrylic / cotton 65/35 blended yarn, which has the characteristics of strong durability, clean appearance and good dimensional stability. It is used for military raincoats and mosquito nets.

(3) Acrylic / cotton cloth has been mentioned in the section of "cotton-type fabric", please refer to the content of "cotton blended and interwoven fabric" in Section 2.

(3) Chlorine fabric

1. Characteristics of Chlorine Fiber Fabric

Chlorine fiber is one of the earliest synthetic fibers in the world. It has many advantages such as water resistance, chemical resistance, corrosion resistance and non-combustibility. Therefore, it has achieved great success in clothing, especially in interior decoration applications. The main characteristics of the fabric are as follows:

â‘´ Chlorine fabric is a kind of non-flammable fabric. It will extinguish immediately after leaving the flame and will not continue to burn.

⑵ Chlorine fabric not only has good wear resistance, but also protects
