Repeated detection of imported food nutrition labels failed

According to the “Shenzhen Commercial Daily” report, since the “General Principles of Nutrition Labelling for Prepackaged Foods” has been officially implemented since January 1, 2013, the Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has seized 52 kinds of conformity tests for imported food nutrition labels at the Wenjindu Port. Unqualified items include protein, fat, trans fat, sodium, and calcium. The types of products involved include biscuits, beverages, condiments, moon cakes, milk, baked goods, jellies, candy, etc. The origins include Germany, France, Britain, Italy. , Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, Poland and other countries and regions.
According to the requirements of the "General Principles of Nutrition Labelling for Prepackaged Food," prepackaged foods that are directly provided to consumers must be labeled with nutritional labeling content. In this regard, while the inspection and quarantine department is strengthening the review of the nutrition label format of imported prepackaged foods, it also conducts conformity testing on the nutrition label content of the first imported food, and returns food or temporarily detains food that does not meet the requirements for the nutrition label. Replace label processing. The inspection and quarantine department reminded the imported food companies to attach importance to the labeling of nutrition labels, evaluate the source and reliability of the nutrition test reports, and improve the accuracy of labels. At the same time, it is recommended that importers send food samples to domestic CMAF laboratories for nutrient testing and produce nutrition labels.
