Prepress production output notes

· Fonts used in the file (especially PAGEMAKER can not turn curves), confirm whether the output center, or need to carry.

• Check whether the color mode is CMYK mode when storing graphics.

• Check the link file before exporting, and change the link information in time if any changes are made.

If the graphics are in TIFF format, delete unnecessary channels and paths before storage, and store them in LZW compression format (this is a lossless compression format, otherwise TIFF files will be almost the size of PSD files, occupying space and memory).

· Do not use bold and underlined Chinese characters in PageMaker. When entering text into the PC, PageMaker should delete the space, otherwise it will be garbled. There is a problem with the version of the PC font library. After the substitution, it is easy to produce text moves and loses. Please indicate the output center, the font version number used.

· PageMaker's trapping options should be used with caution. Please see the preview effect.

· PageMaker Chinese fonts in the middle of the row is best not to use Chinese fonts, otherwise there will be post moves, variants, inaccurate sets and other issues.

· PageMaker is best not to use kerning, in my practice it sometimes moves (kernels increase or decrease), but sometimes does not change, so it is best not to use for safety.

CORELDRA's PSD format image output speed is very slow, in some versions with channel or rotation will cause image defects, should be converted to a bitmap.

· Do not use paragraph text in CORELDRAW. Please change to art text or to a curve. If you are not satisfied, please use the new version.

· In CORELDRAW, you can use the shading and pattern attached to the software to fill in the graphics, or as a base map; use Note: 1. Select the appropriate precision, usually 1.5-2.0 times the number of output lines, if the accuracy is too low Affect the accuracy of the map, too high will affect the output speed. 2. The selected basemap should pay attention to whether its attribute is CMYK mode. Generally, the basemap shading filled is RGB mode, which should be changed to four-color mode.

· When using CORELDRAW version, in order to improve the speed (output) If the file is relatively large, there are many types of graphics. It is better to combine several small versions of the base image into one to reduce the amount of information in the file and increase the output speed. Note that text should not be converted to a bitmap (especially small words). If text is converted to a bitmap, the accuracy of the text will be affected.

· The CORELDRAW high version to convert the lower version should pay attention to check whether there is any difference with the original high version file, use the effect of many lower versions will lose some results.

·ILLUSTRATOR, FREEHAND, black fills and lines, check the OVERPRINT option in the property.

· Gradient processing is not ideal for desktop systems. It is best to add 2-3 noise points to PHOTOSHOP's filter when making.

· Please pay attention to the use of the Founder WITS typesetting software: In the WITS comes with the following fonts in the output center can not be issued in the output: Coarse Song amber 2 Super thick black Zhongyuan Caiyun Han Jian Song Sixin newspaper Song Ping black thin gold body Huang Caochang牟 Japanese 1 Japanese 2 Japanese White Sports

· If you use vector graphics editing software such as CoreIDraw, Freehand, ILLUSTRATOR, etc., if there is no special effects font processing, it is recommended to change to a curve or path, so that the font is guaranteed to be foolproof. (Note: If you convert to a path or curve, it may cause aliasing on the screen, but it does not affect the output. There may be gaps in the overlap of the text after CoreIDraw turns the curve.)
Making draft points
(1) The corner line is also called the cutting line. Its role is to indicate the final area of the finished product, which is used for cutting; that is, when the printing is made, it needs to use a paper slightly larger than the design size to avoid errors due to printing. The exposed white edge or irregularity.

(2) Bleeding If the graphics of the design screen is the top edge, then it needs to be placed 3 mm outside the cutting line. This part of the screen that will eventually be cut off is called bleeding; its role is to avoid printing and cutting errors and reveal white borders.

(3) Crosshairs When design manuscripts need to be printed in more than two colors, crosshairs, also called register lines, must be added on both sides of the manuscript manuscript (film).

(4) Zooming in and out The zooming in and zooming out are usually indicated by a multiple or scale, which is delivered to the platemaker using an optical instrument for zooming.

(5) Symmetrical pattern It is a laborious task to draw a forward draft that is the same in the opposite direction. The simpler method is to draw only one side of the pattern. The rest of the symmetrical side is synthesized by the plate-making staff using the principle of photolithography for mirror-complementation.

(6) Image processing When drafting the manuscript, it is possible to draw contour lines of equal proportions on the exact position on the transparent paper covered by the manuscript, and indicate the plate making requirements. In this way, the plate-making staff can clearly understand the graphic text. In addition, a transparent paper is overlaid on the original image provided to indicate the cut line for the final image.

(7) Color representation of printed manuscripts 1 Grayscale specification for monochrome printing It is represented by 0% to 100% as white-gray (from shallow to deep, that is, from sparse to dense). 2 four-color printing color designation printing four primary colors - product cyan, magenta, lemon yellow, black, respectively, by the letters C, M, Y, K, respectively, and then by 0% to 100% from shallow to deep, that is, the network by sparse To close. Such as the C100 M65 Y20 K15. 3 spot color ink design spot color ink is directly mixed by the ink color or some special special ink, such as gold, silver. Direct reference to the spot color card provided by the ink company, select the desired label.
