After testing, Wang Dezhi said that from the preliminary analysis of the test data, the formaldehyde in Mr. Zhu’s home must exceed the standard. “We all buy environmentally friendly materials in the decoration. How can this happen?” For Mr. Zhu’s question, Wang Dezhi analyzed this and his home. There is too much furniture.

Expert activated carbon should be replaced regularly

Yesterday, the final test results came out. The formaldehyde content of the master and second bedroom in Mr. Zhu’s home was 0.14 mg and 0.16 mg per cubic meter, respectively, compared with the pollution index of less than (equal to) 0.08 mg per cubic meter specified by the national standard. More than doubled. In addition, there is also a bedroom in two households with a formaldehyde content exceeding the standard, but the value exceeding the standard is not very large, the overall situation is better than in previous years.

Wang Dezhi said that the use of plates, wallpapers, and various types of glues is likely to cause excessive formaldehyde. Therefore, in the decoration, the principle of "light decoration, heavy decoration" should be adhered to. He suggested that the newly renovated home should not be immediately occupied, because the decoration materials used in the decoration are environmentally friendly and the amount of the decoration will affect the air quality of the newly renovated living room. If the interior decoration is relatively simple and the quality of the decorative materials is good, in the case of maintaining ventilation, it is better to stay after one month of renovation.

Wang Dezhi also gave his own advice on the activated carbon used in many citizens' homes. "Activated carbon can absorb indoor air impurities and purify the air. However, it is worth noting that activated carbon will reach saturation after adsorbing a certain amount of impurities. Therefore, it cannot be used indefinitely and needs to be replaced regularly."
