Metso launches new toilet paper machine

Metso Paper is a leading supplier to the global tissue machine market. At present, the company is fully committed to introduce a new low-cost toilet paper production concept. This toilet tissue production device called Advantage DCT 100 is particularly suitable for enterprises with a production volume of 70 to 75 t/d in the start-up production scale. The equipment provided toilet paper manufacturers with a set of economical and reliable solutions, enabling them to obtain high output with the lowest capital cost and the lowest risk.

The Advantage DCT 100 is a brand new small tissue machine developed by Metso Paper for start-up production.

The main target market for the Advantage DCT 100 concept is a company that is at the starting point of production. It is particularly suitable for markets such as China, Eastern Europe and South America that have just started. These markets have great potential for development. In these areas, a small increase in production or a decrease in price can give a company a great advantage in entering the toilet paper market. The headbox is the latest hydraulic headbox based on proven SymFlo TIS design principles. The paper machines can be installed in standard containers to reduce transportation and installation costs.

This research and development work has been going on for more than a year in Karlstad, Sweden, and Gorizia, Italy. The most critical part of this is engineering design. One of the basic preconditions for the simplification of components is that the paper forming section operates at a speed of 1600 m/min. Therefore, this system does not belong to "super-capacity design," but at a moderate speed, it guarantees good operating performance. As a result, the cost of many components in the paper machine, including racks and rollers, is saved. The simplified and compact stock preparation system is located next to the tissue machine.

The basic components of the Advantage DCT 100 tissue machine include a set of crescent shapers with a width of 2.7m and a set of 12-inch Yankee cylinders. The equipment is transported in a modular manner to simplify installation and civil works.
